The O’ahu Arts Center is pleased to announce the
Fifth Annual Mozart Festival
The O‘ahu Arts Center is issuing this call for
entries for its Fifth Annual Mozart Festival, an annual musical competition for
students grades K-12. The festival
promotes the study and performance of music composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
and showcases several musical categories including string, wind, percussion,
piano and voice in three divisions: elementary (grades K-5), intermediate
(grades 6-8) and advanced (grades 9-12). Official rules and conditions are
listed in the attached information
sheet.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is considered by many historians as one of the most prolific musical geniuses of all time. His music has transcended over 200 years of music history.
It is with this in mind that the O’ahu Arts Center is celebrating the music of this prolific composer. We invite all students through grades K-12 to participate in this unique competition and performance.
All entrants will have the opportunity to play their selected piece on February 3, 2008, in an audition before a group of professional musicians. Winners will be announced at the end of the audition and will subsequently perform in a concert on February 24, 2008.
